On November 12th the University of Arkansas will welcome author Dr. Gene Glass to speak here in Fayetteville as apart of the Education Leadership Distinguished Lecture Series for Practicing Public School Leaders. Dr. Glass is a professor of educational leadership and psychology in education at the Arizona State University. He will be speaking about his book which is titled Fertilizers, Pills, And Magnetic Strips: The Fate Of Public Education In America. In his books he highlights major changes in society that have impacted the world of education in America.

While I have not read his book yet, it is on my “wish list” and can’t wait to read his work after hearing the reviews of his work……and I’m very excited about having the opportunity to hear him speak. This sounds like an interesting book. Not knowing anything about the author or his particular views, I can say that the title itself is provocative. There are some really strange thoughts that come to mind when I try to mentally link fertilizer, pills, and magnetic strips to education. You and your class is doing a great job with the blog.
