Lesson One – April Fools

postitWith today being April Fools Day, it was bound to happen…the car in the picture above belongs to our very own Coach Bauer. Her basketball students decided it would be a great idea to cover all the clear components of her car with post-it notes. I thought this was a pretty clever gag for jr. high kids to pull on April Fools and very innocent in regards to how cruel their prank could have been.

Lesson Two – The Streak Continues

WallEach week we perform something called a learning check in my social studies classes. A learning check is a ten question quiz that is not taken for a grade. The point is to basically assess what our knowledge is of the current content being taught. This semester our Arkansas history weekly ten has been dominated by one class particularly; 2nd period has had the highest percentage for nine straight weeks. This is an impressive feet and right now they are making a serious run at going the entire year with this streak in hand.

Lesson Three – Increased Traffic

photoOur blog wall which has recently been flooded with comments from Dr. Strange’s students.

This week we have seen a sudden rise in traffic to our class blog and majority of that traffic has come from Mobile, Alabama. Our good friend, Dr. Strange, has used our class blog as the center piece to his latest assignment…and it is a huge one. This assignment includes 13 individual assignments that require students to basically check out every single aspect of our website. Pretty intense huh? However, I’m very glad that he has done this because we have received an influx of comments from his students and their reaction to our site. So, thank you to Dr. Strange and all of his students for your increased interest in our work.
