history

With time running low on the semester (4 weeks), our social studies class is looking to wrap up our talks about world history (1200 – 1800). Because of the fact that we do not have a large amount of time to study this massive chuck of history, my students and I are using mini-lessons to cover the basic information about certain time periods. The time periods we are studying can be explained with an simple acronym called REPSI.

R (Renaissance)
E (European Exploration)
P (Protestant/Counter Reformation)
S (Scientific Revolution)
I (Industrial Revolution)

While this may seem like an impossible task, remember we will be briefly covering the highs and lows of each era. Having covered the renaissance last week (using mini-lessons), this week we will be focusing on the protestant reformation and the scientific revolution. Feel free to check back with us throughout the next couple of weeks as we cover seven centuries of history….wish me luck.
