chilepepper 4The Chile Pepper, which was held in Fayetteville, featured a total of 4,800 collegiate, jr. high, and sr. high runners. Over a dozen different states were represented this weekend and needless to say this was our biggest race of the year by far…let’s get straight to it and talk about some reasons to celebrate:

Boys

  • Four of our boys placed in the top 100 (out of 452 runners)
    • Tim Scarbrough – 17th, Jordan Pilkington – 42nd, Patrick Ragan – 91st, Andrew Henry – 99th.
  • We finished 12th out of the 32 teams that attended with 350 points
  • We were finally able to beat out our in town rival Ramay Jr. High

Girls

  • Two of our girls finished in the top 70 runners (out of 377 runners)
    • Kara Tubb – 46th, Bella Alves – 66th
  • Despite being down 4 runners this weekend, our girls were still able to come away with a 26th place finish

Beautiful weather and great racing was a great way for us to cap off our week after a huge build up for this race. I couldn’t be more proud of our runners and next up we have our conference meet on the 26th of October. You can find a full listing of results by clicking here.

I am very impressed with how well they did. I think that it is great how you post the students achievements onto your blog. It really seems like you are a great supporter and it seems to be a great way to keep other informed of the students progress as well. I really wish you luck in the future meets. I’m sure the students will do great.
