Josie explains the three tribes project that my social studies students recently finished.

Recently in social studies, Ms. Simonek has been leading her students through the history of historic Arkansans. This study of Arkansas history has covered the prehistoric Indians of Arkansas to the more current tribes and cultures.

The three tribes my students have been studying include the Osage, Quapaw, and Caddo Indians. Students were given a list of research questions that required them to research various historical and geographic information about these tribes. Once students finished their research they then placed the information into a PowerPoint presentation.

Students will continue to learn about the historic tribes of Arkansas as they move into their new unit of study that includes first explorers of Arkansas and their relationships with these tribes.
