  1. Hello!
My name is Rebekah Lloyd, and I am from Dr. Strange’s EDM310 class at the University of South Alabama. Although not as extensive as your blog, feel free to check out my blog or you can follow me on twitter.
I have had a wonderful time investigating your entire blog, and I am encouraged to see so much talent in your eighth graders! I watched the video called T – man showing off his piano skills from the Talent Show section. I love to play the piano as well, but I was definitely not that good at his age! I loved the song choice, because my little brother used to play that one all of the time. it brought back great memories for me. Keep up the great work “T-man!”

  2. Hi, my name is Courtney and I am a student at the University of South Alabama in EDM 310. As a HUGE Journey fan, I would like to applaud everyone who participated in the sing-a-long. It was very entertaining to watch.

  3. Mr. McClung, I am a student in Dr. Strange’s EDM 310 Class at the University of South Alabama, in Mobile, AL. I was assigned to watch the Talent Show video, 9th Grader performs a hip-hop routine. I thought this person did an excellent job of displaying balance, coordination, and creativity into a minute. Although the practice takes days, maybe even months, it all comes down to when you are in front of the audience and I think this audience loved her. Whether your talent is singing, dancing, sports, etc., do what you love! I enjoy watching people dance because everyone’s dancing style is unique, yet interesting.
    Thanks for the post!
I will be writing a post about this video on my blog at spenceamandaedm310.blogspot.com, if you and your class would like to view it!

  4. Hello!

My name is Tiffany Fey and I am a student at the University of South Alabama, majoring in Elementary Education. I am in Dr. Strange’s EDM 310 class this semester, which is a very enriching class, and I am very glad that he decided to make it an assignment to comment on this blog. I have really enjoyed browsing this site, being able to see students at work and see all of the amazing things they can do encourages me to become a teacher even more! I was assigned to watch and comment on “T-Man Showing Off His Piano Skills”, but I have watched all of the videos and they are wonderful! T-Man’s piano skills are fantastic! I have always loved the piano and I even took a class in high school to try to learn how to play it, but it never quite got me to the point where I could play it like this! The song he decided to play was beautiful as well. I hope that T-Man continues to play the piano because he truly has a gift. I have really enjoyed reading your blog, Mr. McClung, it is definitely a great tool to use in the classroom. If you would like to see my blog you can click Here and you can also follow me on Twitter. I can’t wait to see more great material from your classes!

    Thank you!

  5. Mr. McClung, I am a student in Dr. Strange’s EDM 310 Class at the University of South Alabama. I was assigned to watch the Talent Show video, 8th grade weezer song. I watch all the videos of the kids and they were all great. The kid on the guitar really knew how to play. He done an excellent job with his song choice as well as vocals. I have always wanted to learn to play but i never too the time to. Keep up the good work students. If you want to check out my blog, you can go here: http://SmithJohnedm310.blogspot.com

  6. Hello Mr. McClung, My name is Ashleigh Skelton I am a student at the of South Alabama. I loved watching all of your s videos, they were so amazing. Though I was only assigned to watch one video. You truly do have some talent students in our school. I loved T- man he is an amazing artist. I had goose bumps come all over me when he started playing. He is truly gifted and truly blessed to have such an amazing talent. T- Man should never give up on his rare talent. I wish I could play the piano like him.

  7. I am student at the University of South Alabama in Dr. Strange’s class. I thought Josh was pretty good with the yo-yo. That took years I’m guessing to learn it to such the extent he did. Mostly practice because I have tried to use a yo-yo and that never panned out to anything more than just rolling it up and down which was easy to do.

  8. My name is Michael Armstrong, and I am a student in Dr. Strange’s EDM310 class. I was assigned to watch the video “T-man showing off his piano skills.” T-man you did a great job! I am envious. I wish I could play an instrument but personally I have no rhythm and every time I try to learn to play something it sounds terrible. I also watched the other videos and was very impressed by all of your talents. Keep up the good work.

  9. Hi,
My name is Alexandra Maniaci, and I’m a student in Dr. Strange’s EDM 310 class at the University of South Alabama. I was assigned to watch Josh’s yo-yo performance, and was so amazed by it that I watched all the other videos. The yo-yo routine was so incredible! I was never able to do those kinds of tricks with a yo-yo and I loved watching you execute all of them flawlessly. You are very talented, Josh! Great job!

  10. Hi, my name is Ashley Franklin and I am a student at the University of South Alabama in Dr. Strange’s EDM 310 class, and although I am no guitar player I really did like his performance. I’m thinking about putting together a talent show for an after school program where I volunteer at after school.Loved the talent show!

  11. Hi! My name is Lisa May and I am a student in Dr. Strange’s EDM310 class at the University of South Alabama in Mobile, Alabama. I was assigned the video – 8th grader sings a Weezer song under the talent show heading. He is very talented on the guitar as well as his vocals! Talent shows always amaze me! I love watching them and am impressed by the talent and courage of the students that perform in front of their peers. I was always to shy and never really had any marketable talents to participate but definitely admired those who did!
I have enjoyed exploring your website and am very impressed by all the things you and your students are doing! I am very new to all of this technology and am continually amazed at all that is being done and the capabilities of the students! I look forward to the day that I have a classroom and can incorporate some of these things into my classroom!
My blog is not as extensive as your classes but I would love for you to visit and make any comments you can. I look forward to following your blog and to learning more great things!

  12. Hello. My name is Michelle French, and I am student in Dr. Strange’s EDM 310 class at the University of South Alabama. I was assigned to watch the Weezer song performed by one of the eight grade students. He did a great job with the song. I have only listened to a few songs by Weezer before, and sadly I did not recognize the one that was sung. From watching the video, I could tell that the student had put a lot of effort into that song. Learning the guitar part and learning the lyrics takes a long time to put it together, and this student did both. Overall, I believe that they did a great job, and they should participate in the next talent show.

  13. My name is Courtney Mathis and I am in Dr. Strange’s EDM 310 class. I am visting your blog as a class assignment. I watched Mr.Neal play the guitar and sing. He did an outstanding job. I enjoyed visting you blog, if you would like to visit my class blog you can do so at mathiscourtneyedm310.blogspot.com.

  14. Hi! My name is Samantha, and I am a student in Dr. Strange’s EDM310 class at the University of South Alabama. I was assigned to watch the Talent Show: Josh. That is definitely some talent, Josh! I’m curious to know how long it took you to learn how to do all of that! I have never been any good with a yo-yo. How long have you been doing it? You are quite the entertainer! Keep it up! I hope to see more videos of you yo-yo’ing in the near future!

  15. Hey Mr. McClung,
I’m a student in Dr. Strange’s EDM 310 class and I was assigned to comment on the video about Mr. Neal performing his original song for the Talent Show. Is this a teacher? He is really talented! I wish I had high school teachers that would perform their talents for us in high school…it would’ve shown they had other interests and were real people haha. I really like that song he sang. My favorite line is, “I wanna love like evergreen.” That’s really creative! I also watched the hip hop dancer video and that’s really cool too. It’s great to see all these people performing and using these gifts they were given!

  16. My name is Kristie George and I am a student in Dr. Strange’s EDM 310 class. I was assigned to comment on the sing-a-long video. This video was very good. I also watched the other videos and I really enjoyed watching the other students. It is good to see students share their talent with others. Great Job!

  17. Hey, my name is Jenna Baxter and I am a student at the University of South Alabama. As I am sure you have guessed, I am in Dr. Strange’s EDM310 class and am commenting on this blog for part of my assignment. I will post my response to this blog post in my blog. You can also follow me on Twitter @jennabaxter1988.

First of all, let me say that I am thoroughly impressed with this whole blog page. While I don’t have much experience with blogs, I do believe this is the most organized and informational blog page I have seen. I like how you have the different links for more information about you, your class rules, student work, and class syllabus. Now on to my comment on the talent show video. I watched the video of the 8th grader who covered the Wheezer song. I think this really showed courage because the student was not afraid to get up there and sing a song by himself. I think he did a great job and this song seemed to be something he really enjoyed singing. I also thought his guitar playing was quite good. I have a brother who loves to play guitar so I know how difficult it can be to learn. I hope to continue following your blog and good luck to all of your students! Thank you for letting us view and comment on your students wonderful work!

  18. I am from Dr. Strange’s EDM 310 class at the University of South Alabama. I was assigned to watch the hip hop video. I thought it was awesome! I also enjoyed watching the other videos. You all have such great talent, keep using it!

  19. Hi my name is Courtney and I am a student in EDM 310. I love to see all the talent in the 8th grade. This video was my favorite because I play piano myself and I love Journey. Keep up the good work!
