ConfederateToday in class we talked quite a bit about leadership and what it takes to be a good leader. Our conversation about leadership comes on the heels of a previous discussion we had about the battle of Pea Ridge and how despite the odds being stacked against the Union troops that they were able to win the battle…and the reason why they won was in large part due to the lack of leadership and organization displayed by the Confederates. Students were asked to draw either a Confederate or Union soldier.

After drawing their soldier, students were then asked to brainstorm about what the most important characteristics are of a leader and then rank them in order of importance. In the video above, a group from my 2nd hour explains the characteristics that they chose.
