On Saturday our cross country boys and girls traveled to Elkins to compete in our first meet of the year. It turned out to be a great day for our team as the kids really stepped up their performance. Our girls had an outstanding race coming in 3rd in the 6/7a division and placing 4 in the top 20 overall.

• Avery Tubb – 15th
• Rebecca Laury – 16th
• Emma Clary – 18th

This performance was even more outstanding when you take into consider the fact that this was the first race for many of our runners and that we came in 5 place in this event last year.

Not to be out done, the boys came out and bested their 5th place performance last year by coming in 2nd in the 6/7a division. Woodland runners also took 6 of the top 20 spots in the race.

Our next race comes on September 24th at Siloam Springs as we will look to better our performance and hopefully contend for the top position.
