M83 are an indie pop act by French musician Anthony Gonzalez. It is named after a spiral galaxy, Messier 83. The band was founded in 2001 by Gonzalez and former member Nicolas Fromageau in Antibes, France. On July 19, 2011, “Midnight City”, the first single from M83’s new album, Hurry Up, We’re Dreaming, was released for streaming and free download on the band’s official website.
