Blake and Jack give their version of Epic Rap Battle.

Today we will start a mini-project in which my students will use the information they have learned about the reformation and put it to music. The past couple of weeks I have treated my students to songs about history that are performed by a a group called The History Teachers…and today my kids will have an opportunity to create one about the reformation. Here are the requirements:

  • Your song must include at least two verses
  • Must include a chorus
  • You will be asked to identify the rhyme pattern
  • It must be historical accurate

You will also be asked to include specifics about the reformation in your song, you must use at least 7 of the people, places or events listed below in your song:

  • Catholic Church Monopoly
  • Indulgences
  • Martin Luther
  • King Henry VIII
  • John Calvin
  • The Pope
  • Johannes Gutenberg
  • Germany
  • 30 Years War
  • Jesuits

We will work on this song for the next two days and likely present it in class…should be fun.
