“Prosser’s Parking Lot” being removed in May of 2011.

Today our normal conversations took a bit of a detour as we took some time to listen to music and talk about slave revolts. In class I played a song by one of my favorite musicians, Tim Barry, titled “Prosser’s Gabriel. The story that Barry tells is about a slave in Virginia in the 1800’s who had planned a revolt against slave owners, but was ratted out before it could ever happen…and although he was found out he did not give up a single word on any of his men. While this story really has nothing to do with the Civil War, happened years before, it still serves as a great tale to share about a man who was truly an unsung hero of his generation. You can hear the song for your self by clicking on the player below.
